A Call to Prayer
for Missing, Exploited, and Trafficked Children and Their Families
Thank you for joining this call to prayer for vulnerable and exploited children. The desire is that through this time of prayer we will stand as the united people of God prayerfully praising and pleading for the movement of the Spirit across our neighborhoods, communities, cities, state, nation, and world; the tragedy of missing kids, child trafficking, and sexual exploitation is one that should unify the Body of Christ to come before the Lord seeking His righteousness, His justice, and His compassion. And, we must pursue this time of prayer knowing that the King of kings does not inattentively recline on His heavenly throne unmoved by injustices; the truth is that the Father presses in and draws close. He is not only attentive and engaged but also near and active; and, the Lord calls us to follow Him, to be salt and light for the hurting world, to comfort those who mourn, and to rescue those in need.
Through this time of prayer we will praise the Lord and remember His greatness, plead for the Father’s protection, comfort, and healing for missing, exploited, and trafficked children and their families, confess and repent of our previous ignorance and complacency in this issue, pursue the Spirit’s calling for the Church, and pray for Christ’s blessing over our efforts. This is not a call to pray from a distance for a matter unrelated to our daily lives—this is a direct call to engage the Father in concerns extremely close to home with the intention being that we will hear His calling and respond as the hands and feet of Jesus. The outline for this 10-day prayer initiative is as follows:
- Day 1: Praying Declarations of Praise for the Holiness of God
- Day 2: Praying for Missing and Exploited Kids
- Day 3: Praying for Comfort for the Families of Missing Kids
- Day 4: Praying for the Miracle of Lasting Healing
- Day 5: Praying for Repentance from Our Complacency
- Day 6: Praying for the Continued Anointing of the Church
- Day 7: Praying for the Multiplication of Resources
- Day 8: Praying for the Effectiveness and Protection of Law Enforcement
- Day 9: Praying for the Government to be Guided in Wisdom
- Day 10: Praying for the Continued Advancement of the Kingdom of God
Each day in this initiative includes Scriptures upon which to read and reflect, a basic discussion regarding the intention of the prayer topic, and a prayer that is to simply serve as a guide or starting point; what matters most is that we are directed by Biblical truth, lean into further intimacy with the heart of God, and be lead by the Spirit. This is not an initiative for the faint of heart; rather, the hope is that we are reminded to be strong and very courageous (Joshua 1:5-9) as a people of prayer, conviction, and loving service.
“These I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” Isaiah 56:7
